Ensuring the safe and proper use of our candles
is our number one priority!

Our scented candles are made with love and care, in the aim to provide you with hours of beautiful fragrance. Follow our tips to keep your candles looking and burning their best to maintain their high quality for longer.

Always light your candle in a well-ventilated room, away from any drafts, which can cause uneven burning or sooting.

Keep an eye on a burning candle if the wick is low, make sure you stop burning your candle when 10mm of wax remains at the bottom.

Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time, this will cause the wick to move and slant. Burn our 250g/9oz candles for one and a half to two hours at a time, burning for less time can cause the candle to 'tunnel', which leaves a build-up of wax around the vessel's sides.

Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings and matches, as debris in the wax can act as a secondary wick, encouraging your candle to burn faster.

After burning, trim the wick to 5mm (once the wax has set), this will help stop the wick from being crooked, smoking or sooting.

After extinguishing the flame (ideally with a snuffer), centre and straighten the wick. If burning for long periods, this can cause the wick to move or slant. If your wick moves too close to the edge of the glass, blow out the flame & straighten to prevent the glass from cracking.

When your candle isn’t in use, store in a dry cool place, either cover with one of our lids or place back in our luxury box. This will protect the quality wax from dust, which can dull the scent and potentially cause problems during burning.

Storing candles for too long can affect the scent, so use your candle in a reasonable time to make the most of its beautiful fragrance.

Condensation on the surface of a candle is a sign it has not been stored correctly, or has been stored for too long. Make sure to wipe this away with a paper towel before lighting.

Sometimes when wax is poured and cooled, the wax may ‘pull away’ from the side of the glass, this can look like air bubbles. In fact this gap is no larger than a hair but the glass magnifies the space giving the illusion of an air bubble. Once you light your candle and the glass warms up these will soon start to disappear.
